About the role
Join BlackRock’s MASS team to research and advance portfolio construction across public and private markets — spanning strategic/tactical asset allocation, systematic signals, risk modeling, and implementation — and translate research into scalable, client-ready solutions.
What you’ll do
- Develop and validate multi-asset models (signals, optimization, risk) used in discretionary and systematic strategies.
- Design portfolios and overlays; evaluate execution & costs; partner with PMs, engineering and data teams.
- Author research notes and present to internal committees and institutional clients; influence product roadmaps.
What you’ll need
- Advanced degree in a quantitative field (e.g., Finance, Stats, CS, Applied Math/Econ).
- Depth in portfolio theory & asset allocation, factor/signal research, risk modeling, and performance attribution.
- Hands-on programming with Python/R/SQL; strong empirical methods and communication skills.
Compensation & setup
Base range (US) $210,000–$270,000
