Join XTY Labs — a new research division at XTX Markets — for a residency‑style AI internship building foundation models, agents, and optimization methods that ship into real trading systems. Work closely with staff researchers and the Research Director in a fast iteration loop from idea → experiment → production.

XTX Markets is a leading electronic market‑maker with a world‑class research cluster (25,000+ GPUs, ~650 PB storage) and offices across London, New York, Singapore, Paris, and more. XTY Labs launched in 2024 to conduct high‑risk, high‑reward AI research with a direct path to production.

What you’ll do
- Research & devise novel ML algorithms across deep learning, RL, optimization, time‑series and language/vision models.
- Build robust prototypes and agents; move successful ideas quickly into production trading systems.
- Collaborate with quantitative researchers; communicate findings and impact clearly.
What you’ll need
- Currently pursuing an advanced degree (ideally PhD) in CS/EE/Math or related; strong publication record or equivalent research evidence.
- Deep experience with modern DL (transformers + variants), statistics/optimization, and hands‑on coding (Python or similar).
- Desirable: foundation models, multimodal systems, large/unstyled datasets, time‑series forecasting. No finance experience required.
Compensation & logistics
- Base (annualized): $420,000/year equivalent (listed as $35,000/month).
- Benefits: similar to US permanent employees where appropriate; plus a sign‑on bonus intended to cover accommodation costs.
- Location & schedule: New York City (Hudson Yards). In‑office at least 4 days/week.
- Timing: 12–14 weeks; flexible start dates; small, selective cohort.
Interview process
- Submit CV + two research papers most relevant to your best work.
- Discussion with the Research Director on background, DL/ML depth, and research fit.
- Practical take‑home exercise building an end‑to‑end model from a provided dataset.
- Final 1‑hour interview with an XTX or XTY researcher.
